Finding the value of x
given data, $\cos h^{- 1} x = \log (2 + \sqrt{3})$ ….(i)
As we know,
$\cos h^{- 1} x = \log (x + \sqrt{x^{2} - 1})$ …..(ii)
Comparing both of the equation,
We get $\log (x + \sqrt{x^{2} - 1})$ $= \log (2 + \sqrt{3})$
$x = 2$ .
