Solution

The correct option is B

C<A-B

Step 1: Given data:

Two vectors A and B.

Angle between A and B: θ=120°

Step 2: Formula Used

Resultant of 2 vectors is C=A2+B2+2ABcosθ

Difference of 2 vectors is A-B=A2+B2-2ABcosθ

Step 3: Solution

Calculate the resultant C. Here, cosθ=cos120=-12

C=A2+B2+2ABcosθ=A2+B2+2ABcos120=A2+B2+2AB-12=A2+B2-AB

Calculate the difference. Here, cosθ=cos120=-12

A-B=A2+B2-2ABcosθ=A2+B2-2ABcos120=A2+B2-2AB-12=A2+B2+AB

Since A2+B2+AB>A2+B2-AB, therefore A-B>C.

Hence, resultant C will be C<A-B
