  1. It has been shown that the salivary reservoir's main purpose is to store salivary secretion for use in moistening and digesting meals.
  2. Additionally, when water is scarce, the contents of the reservoir help to partially meet the needs of the cockroach for water.

Ducts of Salivary Gland of cockroach:

  1. A salivary gland duct is created when ducts from the glandular sections of either side come together.
  2. Both sides' salivary ducts continue onward and merge into one another.
  3. A receptacle duct emerges from each container.
