Solution
Lens:
Anatomically, the lens is defined as a transparent structure that is biconvex in nature.
It is present behind the iris of an eye.
The function of the lens is to focus the light rays on the retina.
The lens is formed of elongated cells that have no blood supply.
They obtain nutrients from the surrounding fluids, basically aqueous humor.
The aqueous humor bathes the front of the cell.
The shape of the lens gets altered by contraction and relaxation of ciliary muscles, thus enabling the eye to focus clearly on objects at a distance.
The lens' ability to adjust from a distant to a near focus is called accommodation.
