Current in terms of voltage and resistance isI=VR

Step 3: Calculating the value of i

The values (clear from the figure) will be-

i=X-VRi1=V1-XR1i2=V2-XR2

Now when we apply the junction rule at point C, we get,

i=i1+i2

Putting these values into the formula for total current, we get-

X-VR=V1-XR1+V2-XR2X-02=20-X2+10-X42X=2(20-X)+10-X5X=50X=10V
