Common indicators:

• First of all, there is no specific category like common indicators it is just a set of chemicals commonly used indicators to test acid and base.
• Indicators are substances which change the colour of the solution in different acid or basic solutions.

Examples:

• Litmus:- It shows red colour in acidic solution and blue colour in basic solution.
• Methyl orange:- It shows red colour in acidic solution and yellow colour in basic solution.
• Phenolphthalein:-It is colourless in acidic solution and pink colour in basic solution.
