What are the three equations of motion?

Open in App
Solution

The three equations of motion are:

  1. First Equation of Motion: v=u+at
In the above equation v is the final velocity of the body, u is the initial velocity of the body, a is the acceleration of the body and t is the time taken in the motion
  2. Second Equation of Motion: s=ut+12at2
In the above equation u is the initial velocity of the body, a is the acceleration of the body, t is the time taken in the motion and s is the distance covered by the body.
  3. Third Equation of Motion : v2=u2+2as
In the above equation v is the final velocity of the body u is the initial velocity of the body, a is the acceleration of the body and s is the distance covered by the body.
