3. There are two types of charges:
   3.1 Positive charge
   3.2 Negative charge
4. The charge of an electron is negative.
5. The charge of a proton is positive.
6. In an neutral atom, there is an equal number of positive and negative charges.
7. When an atom has more electrons it is said to be a negative ion.
8. When an atom has fewer electrons it is said to be a positive ion.
