What does it mean when equipotential lines are closer together?

According to the diagram the arrowed lines are equipotential lines.

  1. In an electric field when the points have equal electric potential, then they are known as the equipotential points.
  2. If the equipotential points are connected by a line then it is known as an equipotential line.
  3. When the equipotential points are closer then the equipotential lines will also be closer.
  4. If Equipotential lines are closer to each other at a region, it means the electric field is strong at that region .
