1. Ionic reaction is generally the reaction of ions that are anions and cations to form a compound in a medium in which they are dissolved.
2. When ions of water-soluble salts interact with each other in aqueous medium results in the formation of water-insoluble salts.

For example- When we mix $\mathrm{HCl}$ with aqueous $\mathrm{NaOH}$ it results in the formation of salt $\mathrm{NaCl}$ and Water ${\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O}$. $\mathrm{HCl}\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)+\mathrm{NaOH}\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)\to \mathrm{NaCl}\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)+{\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O}\left(\mathrm{aq}\right)$.
