Cauchy's Mean-value Theorem

  • Cauchy's theorem is the generalization of the Mean-Value theorem.
  • It states that if two functions fx and gx are continuous in the closed interval a,b and if both the functions are differentiable in the open interval a,b and ga≠gb then there exists a c such that a<c<bsuch that fb-fagb-ga=f'cg'cwhere f'c,g'care derivatives of fc,gc respectively.
