Slip ring:

1. Electrochemical devices that transmit power from rotating structures to stationary structures are called slip rings.
2. It is used to simplify operations and improve mechanical performance in various electric machines.
3. It is made of two components a metal ring and brushes contact. Although both slip rings and commutator are used to maintain electric circuit continuity between a rotating and static system there are different from each other.
4. While transferring electric power to a stationary system from a rotating system without changing the polarity, commutators shift the polarity of the electric power being transmitted.
