What are Normality and Molarity?

Open in App
Solution

Normality:

  1. A concentration measure equivalent weight of a gram is equal to the per liter of solutions called normality.
  2. The normality is decided by the solution's position in the reaction.
  3. In a solution, the corresponding concentration is also known as normality.
  4. It is calculated by the formula:

N=Eq(Numberofgramequivalentsofsolute)V(Volumeofsolventinliters)

Molarity:

  1. In a certain volume of solution, the amount of substance is known as molarity.
  2. The moles of a solute per liter of a solution is known as molarity.
  3. The molar concentration of a solution is also known as Molarity.
  4. It is calculated by the formula:

M=n(Molesofsolute)V(Volumeoflitersofsolution)
