Question

What is relative pressure?

Open in App
Solution

  1. The pressure can be calculated in two forms -relative pressure and absolute pressure.
  2. Relative pressure can be taken into account by considering the atmospheric conditions at 1 bar.
  3. Relative pressure can be related and corrected with respect to sea-level conditions.
  4. It can be used for comparing the pressure conditions from one location to another.
  5. Sea level is taken into account because as we move to the higher altitudes the pressure decreases.
  6. If you live above the sea level then the corrected sea level pressure is higher than the measured pressure.
  7. If you live below the sea level then the corrected sea level pressure is lower than the measured pressure.
