Covalent bond:

The attachment of atoms by sharing pair of electrons through a bond is known as a covalent bond.

It is distributed into two parts:

  1. Single covalent bond: When a pair of electrons is shared between the two atoms through a bond is known as a single covalent bond. For example, the Chlorine atom is formed by the sharing of one pair of electrons.
  2. Multiple covalent bonds: When two or more pairs of electrons are shared among the atoms through a bond is known as multiple covalent bonds.
