Solution

The difference between armature and rotor:

Armature

Rotor

1. An armature is a coil that is used in generators that carries current through it.1. A rotor on the other hand consists of a field magnet which is used to turn the motor shaft.
2. An armature rotates itself to produce a change in the magnetic flux.2. A rotor remains stationary and rotates the shaft to produce a changing magnetic flux.

For example an armature is used in the generators whereas rotors are used in induction motors.
