An amine is a functional group, in which alkyl or aryl takes the place of replaced hydrogen.An imine is a functional group that contains carbon-nitrogen double bonds. In imine, the nitrogen is attached either with carbon or hydrogen.
Amine is the derivative of ammonia.Imine is the derivative of aldehyde.
These are formed by replacing the hydrogen from one or more alkyl or aryl groups.These are formed by substituting the oxygen atom with N-Rgroup.
General formula: R3-xNHx, where R is a hydrocarbon group, and x is an integer with 0 < x < 3.General formula:R2C=NR
It has a fishy smell.It has the smell of roasted seafood.
It is more basic than imine.It is less basic than the amine.
