Question

How to find the magnitude of the vector?

Open in App
Solution

Concept: the value of a vector

  1. The algebraic representation of vectors is obtained by putting their "tail" at the origin of a multidimensional space and obtaining the appropriate coordinates, or components, of their "point."
  2. The square then gives the absolute value (magnitude) of a vector like for the vector in the one dimensional, the magnitude of vector is A=A2.
  3. If A is the vector, its absolute value in the two-dimensional plane is A=x2+y2 where x and y represent the x-component and y-component of A.
  4. In three dimensional plane, the absolute value is A=x2+y2+z2where x, y, and z represent the x-component, y-component, and z -component of A.
