Question

What is the heat transfer coefficient of air

Open in App
Solution

Heat transfer coefficient :

  1. Heat transfer coefficient is defined as the amount of heat transported per kelvin per unit area.
  2. The convection heat transfer co-efficient of air is given by the expression :
    hc=10.45–v+10v1/2
    Wherehc= heat transfer coefficient (kCal/m2h0C)
    v= relative speed between air and the object surface (m/s)

Hence the transfer coefficient of air is hc=10.45–v+10v1/2.
