Solution

  • Oxygen(O2) is a colorless, odorless gas that is naturally found in nature.
  • Combustion is the process of burning in the presence of oxygen
  • A glowing splint test is used to detect the presence of oxygen.
  • In the glowing splint test, the splint is ignited, and burn it for a few seconds, and blown out or shaken out of the mouth.
  • Now, to check the presence of oxygen the splint is inserted into the gas-collected container.
  • Coal is exposed to concentrated oxygen gas ignites to form a stable flame.
  • Higher is the concentration of oxygen, the faster will be the wood burns and the stable will be the flame which indicates the presence of oxygen.
