Homogeneous mixture:

  • Homogeneous mixtures are the mixtures in which the components are uniformly distributed throughout the mixture.
  • Example: Mixture of salt and water.

Heterogeneous mixture:

  • When two or more components do not mixed together and they do not uniformly distributed throughout the mixture are called heterogeneous mixture.
  • When sand is dissolved in water, it does not evenly mix with water and after some time it will settle down in the container.
  • Therefore, the mixture of sand and water is heterogeneous mixture.
