Question

Which law of Newton is called the law of equilibrium?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Newton's first law of motion is the law of equilibrium.
  2. Newton's first law states that every object tends to remain in the state of equilibrium or rest until is disturbed by an external force.
  3. Equilibrium is a position at which a body remains stable.
  4. The net force acting on the body is zero.
  5. In the first law, we can know that a body remains at rest or in constant velocity if an external force is not applied to it.
  6. From the above laws, it is clear that equilibrium is stated by newton's first law.
  7. For example a bus will not start to stop/or move until some net force is applied.
