Are all gymnosperms dioecious?

Open in App
Solution

Gymnosperms:

  1. Gymnosperms refer to plants in which ovules are not enclosed inside the ovary wall.
  2. The ovules remain exposed before and after fertilization.
  3. The leaves of gymnosperms are like scales or needles. These leaves are adapted to tolerate extreme climatic conditions.
  4. In dioecious plants, male and female flowers are found on separate plants.
  5. All gymnosperms are not dioecious. They can be monoecious in which male and female flowers are present on the same plant. Example: Pinus.
