Open in App
Solution

Bacteria:

  1. Bacteria are unicellular, prokaryotic organisms found in a diverse range of environments.
  2. They contain a nucleoid instead of a true nucleus and lack various membrane-bound cell organelles. Example: Rhodospirillum, Salmonella.
  3. Living organisms show responses to external stimuli by moving towards or away from the stimuli.
  4. They are capable of growth, reproduction, respiration, metabolism, etc.
  5. Bacteria possess all the above-mentioned characteristics; hence they are called living organisms.
