Solution

Gibberellins:

  1. Gibberellins are a type of plant growth regulator (PGR) that play an important role in plant growth.
  2. They play vital roles in internode elongation, seed germination, delaying senescence, parthenocarpy, flowering, etc.
  3. Proteins are macromolecules that are made up of amino acids. Examples of proteins include collagen, insulin, albumin, etc.
  4. Gibberellins are not proteins. They are diterpenoid acids, derivatives of terpenes.
  5. More than 100 types of gibberellins have been identified. Type 1, 3, 4, and 7 of gibberellins are found to be active.
