The embryo divides into three germ layers during its development, namely ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. Such animals are called triploblastic.
All bilateral animals like annelids, molluscs, arthropods, and vertebrates are triploblastic.
Human beings
During the human embryonic development, the developing embryo divides into three layers which then differentiate into different parts of the human body.
The ectoderm forms the exoskeletal structures- neural and epithelial tissues.
The mesoderm forms the internal organs- bone marrow, muscular system, bones, urogenital system, heart, etc.
The endoderm forms certain organs and the inner lining of organs- stomach, colon, intestines, liver, pancreas, lungs, etc.
