Bacteria:

  1. They are unicellular prokaryotic organisms.
  2. They are one of the very first organisms to evolve on earth.
  3. The size of a typical bacteria ranges between 1 µm-5 µm.
  4. Examples- Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, etc.

Protozoa:

  1. They are unicellular, eukaryotic, & heterotrophic organisms.
  2. They are either free-living or parasites.
  3. The size of typical protozoa is up to 50 µm. Therefore, protozoa are larger than bacterial cells.
  4. Example-Trypanosoma, Trichomonas, Plasmodium, etc.
