  3. These plants survive on land but need water for fertilization.
  4. They complete their vegetative and reproductive phase on land and water respectively.
  5. Pteridophytes are vascular plants that have defined phloem and xylem to transport substances.
  6. Thus they are also called vascular amphibians, not true amphibians.
  7. Examples- Ferns, mosses, horsetails, etc.
