  1. Nutrients that provide energy and are required in large quantities.
  2. They are required to maintain important bodily functions.
  3. Example- Fats, Proteins, and carbohydrates.

Micronutrients:

  1. As the name suggests, they are nutrients that are needed in micro quantities.
  2. They play a pivotal role in the metabolic activities of the body
  3. Examples- Vitamin-C, D, A, B, etc, & Minerals- iron, copper, manganese, zinc, etc.
  4. Therefore, vitamins are micronutrients and not macronutrients.
