  4. Mutations give rise to various types of cancers.
  5. However, with new advancements in gene therapy and the usage of CRISPR technology, scientists have been trying to treat various genetic diseases in animals.
  6. Example-Using a new gene-editing system based on bacterial proteins, MIT researchers could cure mice of a rare liver disorder caused by a single genetic mutation.
