Phage:

  1. Viruses that infect and replicate within bacteria.
  2. They are also known as bacteriophages.
  3. Recent studies have shown that phages possess antiviral properties.
  4. For example- phagicin protein (product of phage replication) acts as an antiviral agent that interferes with the replication of viral DNA.
