  2. Plants are primary producers and depend on photosynthesis for all their energy needs.
  3. Starch is the primary metabolite that is broken down to provide energy to the cells in the form of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate).
  4. Plants cannot survive long without photosynthesis.
  5. They can survive on stored food for some time but won't sustain much longer.
  6. Parasitic plants such as broomrape are an exception as they lack photosynthesis and rely on other plants for nutrients and energy.
