Blood type is determined by the genotype of parents.
A person can have A, B, AB, and O blood types, few rare blood types are also present.
Normally, a person can’t have two different blood types.
It can only happen when a person carries two sets of cells from two sources. This rare condition is called chimerism.
This rare condition occurs in the case of twins or triplets when during embryo development, one embryo dies early and absorbs cells from another embryo.
In this case, the chimeric individual has two different types of blood at the same time.
