Function of the bladder:

  1. In the kidneys urine is produced and moves down through the ureters to the bladder.
  2. The bladder holds urine and eliminates it through the urethra.

Life without a bladder:

  1. Removal of the bladder of course deteriorates the quality of life in an individual.
  2. It puts limitations as after cystectomy (removal of urinary bladder) the patient needs to carry a urostomy bag to collect urine.
  3. It takes much time to get used to this and do normal work.
  4. So, after bladder removal, the person can live but the quality of life will get reduced with handful of limitations.
