Aerobic decomposition:

  1. Any mechanism that takes place in presence of oxygen is aerobic.
  2. Aerobic decomposition is the one in which decomposition takes place in presence of oxygen.
  3. Aerobic respiration gets accelerated in presence of air.

Anaerobic decomposition:

  1. Any mechanism that takes place in absence of oxygen is anaerobic.
  2. Anaerobic decomposition is the one that takes place in absence of oxygen.
  3. Methane is released in anaerobic respiration.
