Question

Do Chrysophytes have flagella?

Open in App
Solution

Chrysophytes:

  1. Chrysophyceae sometimes called golden algae.
  2. They are common constituents of plankton in oligotrophic lakes.
  3. They have two flagella and, interestingly, most species are capable of ingesting small organisms or particles for photosynthesis and food.
  4. Thus, many members of the Chrysophyceae are considered to be facultative heterotrophs.
