Heterosporous:

  1. The term heterosporous is used for plants producing different kinds of spores that differ in function, structure, and size.
  2. There are two kinds of heterospores, i.e., bigger megaspores and smaller microspores.
  3. Heterospory is observed in a few seed plants and some pteridophytes.

Example of heterosporous plant:

  1. One example of a heterosporous plant is Selaginella.
  2. It is a pteridophyte, hence is seedless and reproduces through spores.
