Question

How are wastes filtered out?

Open in App
Solution

Filtering out wastes in kidneys

  1. Impure blood enters the kidneys.
  2. Initial screening of wastes occurs in the glomerulus.
  3. The blood then enters the proximal convoluted tubule, loop of Henle, and distal convoluted tubule.
  4. Blood capillaries surround these tubules.
  5. Glucose, urea, some water, and other substances present in the blood enter these tubules from the capillaries.
  6. From this filtered matter, urine formation takes place.
