Inheritance pattern can be detected by using Mendel's laws of inheritance.
Suppose if we know which gene is dominant among the two we can state that the dominant one will be expressed.
Whereas if we know if the gene is sex-linked or not we can determine whether the prevalence will be more in the son or daughter and if it is autosomal it can equal sex prevalence.
Punnett square also helps us to determine the inheritance pattern.
