How do archaebacteria reproduce?

Open in App
Solution

Reproduction in archaebacteria:

  1. Archaebacteria are unicellular organisms known to be evolved from blue-green algae and bacteria.
  2. They are prokaryotes (no well-defined cell membrane and membranous organelles).
  3. They do not have cell nuclei.
  4. They reproduce asexually via the process of binary fission, fragmentation, or budding.
  5. Binary fission is the sexual reproductive process where a body divides into halves to mature into separate different organisms.
  6. In fragmentation a new individual organism develops from a part of the parent body.
  7. Budding is the asexual reproduction involving the development of a bud on the parent body which matures into a new individual.
