Cnidaria:

  1. Cnidaria is a phylum of non-chordates. This is also known as Coelenterata.
  2. The members of this phylum have tissue level of organization.
  3. These animals have cnidoblasts. That's why these are called cnidarians.
  4. On the tentacles of cnidoblast, nematocysts are found. They catch the prey with the help of these.
  5. Once, they caught food, it is transferred to the gastrovascular cavity.
  6. Here extracellular digestion takes place. Extracellular digestion means the digestion takes place outside the cells.
  7. As we know cnidarians are aquatic animals, they eat other sea animals like fishes, turtles and starfishes.
