Open in App
Solution

Oligochaeta:

Oligochaeta is a subclass of simple-looking but surprising complex animals belonging to the kingdom Animalia.

Locomotion in oligochaetes :

  1. Oligochaetes have body segments with a small number of bristles called chaeta or setae.
  2. They contract and relax these segments to send waves down the body, moving the animal by the process of peristalsis.
  3. They lack parapodia.
  4. Example, Common earthworm.
