Kidney pain:

  1. Kidney pain is the discomfort caused by the location of your kidneys.
  2. Back pain is felt in the body higher and deeper than kidney pain.
  3. It may be felt in the upper rather than the lower half of your back.
  4. It is felt on one or both sides, usually beneath the rib cage, as opposed to back pain.

Kidney pain symptoms:

  1. A dull ache that is usually persistent
  2. In the abdomen or beneath the rib cage
  3. Pain in your side; usually only one side, but both can be painful.
  4. Pain that is sharp or severe and may come in waves.
  5. Pain that may spread to your groin or stomach.
