2. It increases the surface area and facilitates the path of fluid or nutrients.
3. Cells containing microvilli are present in the small intestine.
4. Due to their tiny hair-like projection, the surface area along the small intestine is increased.
5. This allows more foods and nutrients to be absorbed into the intestinal wall.
