Enzyme

  3. When an enzyme (E) binds to a substrate (S), an intermediate short-lived enzyme-substrate (ES) complex is formed.
  4. This is followed by the formation of a short-lived enzyme product (EP) complex.
  5. From the EP complex, finally the enzyme and product are released.
  6. An enzyme facilitates the bond formation and bond breaking.
