Question

How is food transported in the human body?

Open in App
Solution

Food transportation in the human body:

  1. At first, the food is ingested and chewed into the mouth.
  2. The starch breaks by the enzyme saliva into the mouth.
  3. As it passes through the gastrointestinal tract, digestive juices mix with it and break the large molecules into smaller ones.
  4. The smaller particles get absorbed through the small intestinal wall and into the bloodstream.
  5. The left-over particles pass through the large intestine and get out of the body as excretory material.
