Lymph is the extracellular fluid flowing through the lymphatic system.
It is synthesized in the interstitial cells which are the cells lying between the functional cells of a tissue.
The lymph seeps through the thin capillary walls into the body's tissue.
Lymph is not circulated by the pumping of the heart.
Lymph flows in one direction from the interstitial spaces to the base of the neck of subclavian veins which are pairs of large veins, locatedon either side of the body responsible for draining blood from the upper extremities, allowing this blood to return to the heart.
