Solution

DNA:

  1. In humans, deoxyribonucleic acid is the hereditary material that contains the genetic code of proteins.
  2. It is in charge of bringing out genetic variation in humans.
  3. It is a double helical structure formed by two complementary polynucleotide chains that run anti-parallel to each other.
  4. Each cell in the human body contains DNA that is 6 feet long, has approximately 3 billion base pairs and contains 30,000 genes.
  5. If we simply calculate the length of the DNA on the basis of the distance between each nucleotide, i.e. 0.34 nm or 0.34 x 10-9 m.
  6. It will come out to be around 2.2 meters, which is way more than the size of the nucleus, i.e. ~10-6 m.
