Solution

Centrosome:

  1. Centrosomes are cellular organelles that help in the process of cell division.
  2. It is considered a primary microtubule-organizing center.
  3. It is present in animal cells only.
  4. The main function of the centromere is that it provides the foundation for the assemblage of the kinetochore.
  5. It also regulates the motility of the cell.
  6. It supports the organization of spindle fibers at the poles during mitosis.
  7. Centrosomes possess two cylindrical structures which are called centrioles.

Centrioles:

  1. Centrioles are the microtubule units that constitute the centrosome.
  2. These are barrel-shaped, paired sub-organelle.
  3. They primarily function in determining the location of various organelles and nucleus within the cell.
