How were nucleosides formed?

Open in App
Solution

Nucleosides:

  1. Glycosylamines known as nucleosides can be thought of as nucleotides devoid of a phosphate group.
  2. A nucleotide is made up of a nucleobase, a five-carbon sugar (ribose or 2'-deoxyribose), and one or more phosphate groups that are transferred from a healthy person to an infected person.
  3. A nucleoside is made up solely of a nucleobase (also known as a nitrogenous base).
  4. A nitrogen base and ribose sugar condense to form a nucleoside.
  5. Purine at its N9 position or pyrimidine at its N3 position is linked to sugar at its C1 position to form condensation, which results in the loss of a water molecule.
  6. Guanosine, adenosine, cytidine, thymidine, and uridine make up this group.
